It's official ... one week from today we will be setting out a new outfit, backpack will be loaded with new supplies, and an EARLY bedtime in store! You guessed it -- SCHOOL starts! This is a new chapter in the Graham household for school as Savannah starts her new adventure in a new school. It has already been an eye opener in several ways that I keenly recognize as "familiar" for my younger school days.
1 -- NO UNIFORMS!! This is absolutely the first thing on Savannah's list of awesome changes.
2 -- Smaller school. Her last 3 years were filled with a populated school of well over 1000 children ranging from K4 - 5th grade. We now are in a school of appx. 300 kids, grades 3 - 5. Registration seemed backwards from what we were used to, but also more of an individual experience at the same time.
3 -- We live less than 1 mile from the school! One of the perks of finding the new home that we live in is that we literally live behind the school ... the only thing that separates us is a beautiful mountain ridge. I feel like I'm on "easy street", as I'll be able to take her back and forth without a lot of extra time and less of an infringement on my work schedule.
4 -- Last but not least, we start an hour earlier than we are used to. Now some might say that is not a positive thing, but really, it is! School runs from 7:25 am - 2:25 pm and will afford Savannah time to play, and enjoy all of her dancing activities, along with the infamous homework :)
1 week to go .... yippee!!
